Good Home-Town Coverage

The Marion Daily Republican's Cherri Flinn covered a recent book signing for Slaves, Salt, Sex & Mr. Crenshaw: The Real Story of the Old Slave House.

The article focuses on my interesting incident with a violent drunk driver.

MARION — Although writing a book and getting it published is extremely difficult, promoting it can be equally as challenging. For local author Jon Musgrave a strange twist of fate landed him in the hospital curtailing his holiday book promotion.

Musgrave had planned to use the month of November to publicize the reprint of his book, "Slaves, Salt, Sex & Mr. Crenshaw," from paperback to hard cover. However, an assault by a drunk driver who beat him with a shovel, fractured his elbow with a laceration to the bone, which caused severe nerve damage to his left hand.
